None of them other than "of the kurzicks/luxons" mean much of anything.

Big Ones I don't think are that hot:
Cartographers - You get like 80-85% complete just by doing all the quests and those areas - so really only the 100% version fo the title means anything, and "skill" has nothing to do with how you get it.

Gladiator - Again, only highest lvls count for anything, and 99.99% of everyone that has it Elite Ziashen'ed it which takes no "skill" at all...

Champion - Most Champion's don't really mean much...a good 1/3 of the top teams Just Gimmicked there - Dervishway or ThumpWay. Right now I'd say a good 40% of the teams with enough rating to get this title would have NEVER got there if Anet hadn't handed them unbalanced skills (dervishway) or what amounts to the IWAY of GvGs (ThumpWay).

Rank - Rank means nothing nowadays and people are starting to realize that, Fame Farming is too effective now. Rank3 is the joke and rank6+ is getting that way. I know teams that are taking rank 1-2s over rank9 PUGs...because they know the rank1-2s and know they are better than most high rank PUGs..

Short answer, none of them.

Longer answer . . .

PvP:

Before the reduction in rating requirement, I'd have said Champion. Now, the requirement is too low and too easily obtained.

My next would be Gladiator, but Zaishen Elite (the PvE of PvP), the double point weekend, and the ability to synch enter randoms dilutes its value.

After that, I'd vote for Hero, but that's horribly diluted by IWAY and Dervishway, let alone the ability to pay to tag along with a guild group/high-skill PUG and ride their coattails to fame.

PvE:

They all show nothing other than mindless grinding (for skills, gold, etc.).

Many players zaishened it, but not all of them. I played in RA during a while to get some glad points, and for knowing many gladiator, I can say the majority don't have zaishened it, despite the fact that many did, I agree.

lol yeah, I have 8 Pve-only level 20s myself and do no PvP either, so fully understand where you are coming from. At a certain point PvE comes down to collection of titles and skins.

I want to post something off-topic, but I feel that I should at least post what the OP wanted before doing that. So here goes:

Most respected: Advanced Skill Hunter, or whatever the 180 elites is. Yes, it's done by grinding. But I respect anyone who has the patience to grind and cap all 180 elites so far in the game. I could never do that.

Least respected: Either of the "Explorer" titles. They're ridiculously easy to get, and by far the absolute easiest in the game. It's not that I don't respect them, it's just that they're the ones I respect the least. If that made any sense.

Anyway, now here's something relatively off-topic I wanted to post, sorry OP if this completely derails your thread, but I don't think it will.

I'm almost ashamed to show my "Deadly Hero (4)" title now. After reading this thread, I can't imagine how many people must have looked at my title and laughed at me in front of their computers. I have 518 fame, and did IWAY for about 2 weeks before I realized what a horribly cheap build it was. I have never done a thumper. I haven't even entered HA since December. So while I feel my title is actually deserving of some respect, I can't explain to people the circumstances upon which I earned it, and will likely be judged by anyone who sees it without me explaining it. Therefore, never again will I show a rank title, as the low ones are considered jokes and the high ones are assumed to have been IWAY'ed. Yet another reason I hate being judged. *sigh*

EDIT: Forgot to add that I never did Elite Zaishen Challenge to get glad points either, and I have 20. All of them RA'ed.

For me its the only Title that I worked my butt off for and thats Skill Trainer. Took a lot of skill points and 1K per Cap Sig adds up rather quickly. And capping skills is not as easy as it seems. Those who cap in Shiverpeaks with henchs know what I mean Anyways, it may not mean much to you but for me its a measure of my own success and perserverance.

i'm going for KOABD on my ranger. so far have:
protector of tyria
protector of cantha
tyrian trailblazer (roughly 87%)
canthan pathfinder
adept skill hunter (150 elites)

the skill hunter title has been the hardest out of them, hands down. aside from eventually running low on skill points, i've had to do the same missions over and over (thunderhead, anyone?) to get skills that only spawn in one place, or ones that are just a bitch to cap in general (wanderlust anyone?). so i have a lot more respect for skill hunters than i do, say, drunkards.

Survivor title ofcourse.

Stories about people leaving mid game or getting runners / powerlvlers are fairytales and excuse for people not having a survivor.

ALMOST anyone that made completly new character just to play survivor for sure won't waste time on such crap, and enjoy a challenge.

I believe most of survivors are legit.

Most respected: Skill Hunter, 180 elites is a lot of skill points, cap sigs, and work.

On another note:
Where does everyone gets their stats that because you can work on some titles using exploits/gold/FoTM builds that most everyone has? Why is every rank 6+ automatically assumed to have fame farmed with Iway, or glads title using the Zaishen exploit, or survivor must've been p-levelled? Does anyone have any solid stats on how much this is rampant? Or is it all just conjecture/guessing?

OMG, you have "XXXXXX" title you must have "XXXXXX" to get it so therefore you are a "(insert derogatory statement here)" titles are meaningless.

/begin sarcasm
Almost everyone who assumes that the majority of title holders "cheated" to get them, probably doesn't have those titles themselves.
/end sarcasm

Seems pretty ridiculous to me that anyone makes blanket statements like that without any real evidence/stats to back it up.

Just my $.02
Peace

Advanced Skill Hunter
Grandmaster Cartographer x2
Protector x2

In that order.

Now, I know people can 'leach' their way to some of these, but I did it the hard way. I killed every mob in Tyria and Cantha, several times, to get these titles. I did it all as a MM, with no running skills. Minions basically means you have to clear each map totally.

I did the Grandmasters first, and actually LEARNED the maps, so that when I capped skills I knew where the boss was before I looked him up.

Then I capped every (remaining) elite, killing 160+ elite bosses, many of them in truely crappy places. How many times did I have to re-do Abbadons because Agony Spindleweb didn't spawn....

So I respect these five titles. NO title indicates "OMG AWESOMENESS", but these five nearly always mean the person has a modicum of competence and ability.

^^^ Well said and lines up with what I believe as well. Course I'd love to see a title for completing *all* the side quests.

I'm also waiting for ANet to release a new level of the KOABD title (The Real Big Deal).

2) Grand Master Carto, 100% tryia and cantha deserved respect.

3) Survivor, it takes alot of skill to pull the right mobs att he right time etc.

What tripe- how is a 'Friend of' title in any way more meaningful than rank? Both are attained by grind, and while fame is indeed farmable with gimmick builds, the level of competition is greater than in AB's, which consist mainly of PvE'ers on a break from troll farming.
And to even suggest that it's harder to attain than a 'Champion' title..

I agree, I can comment on what I disrespect the most though - like survivor title on warriors. I laugh at one everytime I see them wearing it. It's comparable to wearing a title that says "I own 100 gold" - not very hard to accomplish. I also disrespect people who purposely farm titles. If you don't earn it through actually doing it then you don't deserve to wear it. For example, people who buy gold unid's for 1k, people who run around in areas to map them out, people who farm the same quest over and over again and donate faction just so their alliance can hold that certain town.

I doubt people who faction farm ever get the time to actually use their town - I never see them in it.

Starting to admire the maxed out survivor title.. simply because of the amount of dedication it takes to get that title.

Incidentally, there are a few problems with getting a power leveler for that title, mainly, getting run to droks is deadly 90% of the time That, and by the time you're at a decent farming area, you might as well farm it yourself.
